Judge Dunn grew up in Medina, Ohio. His parents, Bill and Jackie, set an example early on of serving the community. Bill was an educator and Medina City’s first parks and recreation director. Jackie spent her career teaching English at Medina Junior High School. His sister Lisa was also a teacher and relocated to San Diego, where she has acted as an administrator for non-profit agencies, including the San Diego Museum of Art.

Judge Dunn has two adult daughters and resides with his wife Lisa (who he married in the Medina Courthouse), and with his rescue Labrador retriever “Stella” in Westfield Center.
